Whoever you are,
Whatever you believe,

When coping with difficult circumstances, one’s beliefs and value system can be challenged as one’s sense of what is “normal” is interrupted. Issues of spiritual distress, including overwhelming emotions, may or may not be grounded in a particular religious belief or spiritual practice.

Spiritual distress can affect one’s whole being – body, mind, and spirit.

If you are experiencing overwhelming emotions, spiritual pain, or a sense of distress, we invite you to connect with a professional chaplain by email, phone or video call – free of charge – who will listen and offer spiritual care and support.

Trained and board certified professional chaplains do not provide definitive answers to questions and issues of spiritual distress. Instead, they help people in spiritual distress to identify and draw upon their sources of spiritual strength – regardless of religion or beliefs. They do not provide medical advice, rather they listen and offer spiritual comfort and support.

Prayer during Coronavirus

We pray for all victims of the coronavirus, their loved ones, and all medical workers and first responders tasked with treatment and care of those who are ill. You who are Comfort, be with all those who are ill, afraid, or in isolation. In their loneliness, be their consolation. In their anxiety, be their hope. In their darkness, be their light. Fill our hearts with Compassion that we might care for ourselves and for others in ways that bring goodness and connection in the midst of distance. Grant your wisdom and grace in each moment.

Amen.
